Summer Remedies & Greek Travels

Summer Remedies & Greek Travels

I am writing from Greece! The water is still a bit too chilly to swim, but this verdant island is blooming with wildflowers, honeybees and the sweet smell of blossoms in the air. As everything is bursting with life and newness, I am inspired to eat lighter and let go of the Winter stagnation, both physically and emotionally. I’ve also been moved to let go of clutter and organize.

Here are my favorite Spring Flower Remedies and some other supportive tips to help you feel light as air and ready for Summer.

Skin, Beauty & Cleansing

Beauty Formula No. 8: This “anti-aging” formula contains Crab Apple, the flower essence for cleansing and purifying, both physically and emotionally.

Crab Apple is wonderful for the skin, clearing breakouts and removing any feelings of shame or discontent with your body.  It is a key remedy for helping you to see the beauty in your self, which will inspire you to treat yourself better (and makes you quite magnetic to others).

It also has Olive (made in Greece), the fatigue remedy, to help pull you out of the winter doldrums and plump up tired, dry skin.

Beauty Formula No. 7: The little sister of Beauty Formula No. 8 is loaded with the confidence boosters. Gamine contains Crab Apple, the flower essence for cleansing and purifying, both physically and emotionally.

Crab Apple is wonderful for the skin, clearing breakouts and removing any feelings of shame or discontent with your body. It is a key remedy for helping you to see the beauty in your self, which will inspire you to treat yourself better (and makes you quite magnetic to others).

Larch and Pine build self love and confidence and Mimulus helps to bring you out of your shell and shed your winter hermit skin.

Motivate, Exercise & Organize

A multitasking formula that helps you do just that. When I take it, even if this was not my intention, I find myself happily cleaning and organizing. I marvel at myself when my usual procrastination about going to yoga is replaced by energetic enthusiasm. Decision making becomes easier and I become a forward moving dynamo. Every time I take My Personal Assistant,  I think, “If I stayed on this, I would be in incredible shape, would write my novel, start two more businesses and maybe learn a new language.”

MPA gives you a really cheerful outlook about your list of things to do, helps you start an exercise program, declutter. Pretty much anything you want to do, just ask this formula to do it and it will.

Extra Support

Herbs For Skin & Detoxifying

Burdock: The skin is the largest organ of elimination, so anything you can do to clean the blood help with your complexion. Burdock is a wonderful blood cleanser and is excellent for breakouts. I have often averted a catastrophic cystic pimple within one day of taking Burdock. Take it for three weeks on and one week off. I like to take the liquid tincture better than pills, but either is fine.

Milk Thistle: Milk Thistle is an incredible herb used to cleanse and regenerate the liver. After a winter of eating more fats and cooked food, the liver can become stagnant.  An efficient liver is reflected in clear skin and bright eyes. Take it for three weeks on and one week off. I like to take the liquid tincture better than pills, but either is fine.

Cellulite & Lymphatic Support

Even if you have not been exercising, you can have nice tone and remove the flabbiness in your tissues by stimulating the lymphatic system. A sluggish lymphatic system can cause cellulite and puffiness. Improve the quality of the skin and the tone of muscles by dry brushing.

Alternate hot and cold showers or do a hot bath followed by cold shower and take Cleavers herb. Cleavers is an excellent way to cleanse the lymphatic system without doing aerobic activity. It is great for cellulite, water retention and chronic skin problems like eczema and psoriasis.  Take it for three weeks on and one week off. I like to take the liquid tincture better than pills, but either is fine.

Food – Eating in Greece

I’ve been eating mostly raw in the daytime. For dinner I eat a light, cooked meal, usually lentils and greens or grilled fish with vegetables at the taverna in the fishing village nearby.
